As part of the weekly research here at The Acquirer’s Multiple we’re always interested in investing gurus who hold the same stocks that appear in our Acquirer’s Multiple Stock Screeners, based on their latest 13F’s. Investors such as Warren Buffett, Joel Greenblatt, Carl Icahn, Jim Simons, Prem Watsa, Jeremy Grantham, Seth Klarman, Ray Dalio, and Howard Marks.

While doing this research we’ve also uncovered a number of common stocks that investing gurus have recently bought, or continuing to hold in their portfolios, according to their latest 13f’s. So we’re now providing a new weekly feature article called ‘One Stock Superinvestors Are Buying’. This week we’ll take a look at:

The Walt Disney Co (DIS)

Walt Disney owns the rights to some of the most globally recognized characters, from Mickey Mouse to Luke Skywalker. These characters and others are featured in several Disney theme parks around the world. Disney makes live-action and animated films under studios such as Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm and also operates media networks including ESPN and several TV production studios. Disney recently reorganized into four segments with one new segment: direct-to-consumer and international. The new segment includes the two announced OTT offerings, ESPN+ and the Disney SVOD service. The plan also combines two segments, parks and resorts and consumer products, into one. The media networks group contains the U.S. cable channels and ABC. The studio segment holds the movie production assets.

A quick look at the price chart below for the company shows us that the stock is down 46% in the past twelve months.
